AI Digital Bookshelf
Privacy Policy
Last Updated: August 14, 2026
1. Local Processing and Library Data AI Digital Bookshelf is designed with your privacy as the highest priority. Your library data—including your ebooks, metadata, book covers, and personal library database—is stored strictly locally on your own computer. You retain full ownership and control of your data. We do not upload, read, sync, or store your personal ebook files, library metadata, or chat histories on our servers.
2. AI Processing & Third-Party API Keys By default, AI Digital Bookshelf allows you to run Large Language Models (LLMs) locally on your device, ensuring maximum privacy. If you choose to use the "Bring Your Own Key" feature to connect to third-party cloud AI providers (such as OpenAI or Anthropic), your chat prompts and the text context required to fulfill your requests will be sent directly to those third-party providers. This data is transmitted securely from your application directly to the provider. We do not intercept, route, or store these API requests, nor do we collect your API keys. Your use of third-party AI APIs is subject to the respective privacy policies of those providers.
3. Data We Collect To provide the fully AI enabled version of the software, we collect and store the bare minimum information required for license verification:
-
Email Address (Used to verify your purchase)
-
Transaction ID (Provided by our payment processor)
-
Hardware ID / Machine ID (An anonymized identifier to enforce our multi-device licensing limit)
We do not collect usage analytics, telemetry data, or crash logs.
3. Payment Processing Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle’s Privacy Policy can be found at https://paddle.com/privacy.
4. Contact Us if you have any questions about this Privacy Policy.
